Nutrition and our food supply

Were you aware that there is and has been a dramatic decline in the quality of nutrition in our food supply? This is an ongoing issue and we need to do something about it. Our fruits and vegetables no longer have the vitamin and mineral content of years past. You would think with technology that it would be improving not faltering. The decline is in the range of 25-50% and continuing downward. The dept. of Agriculture is aware of it but when was the last time you saw it reported on CNN or any other news source?

The fact that our food supply does not provide us with the nutrients and minerals our bodies need contributes to the obesity issue here in America. People tend to overeat and therefore compromise their health because they need to lose weight.

There are a lot of agencies that just gather data but never bother to do anything but compile it. What is the point in mining the data about the nutrients or lack of in our food supply and then not do something about it when you see it is on the decline?
Whether we want to believe it or not our food supply is in trouble and it is big business.

There is something you can do on the personal level about insuring you are getting the proper nutrition. We should be doing something on national level to change this and maybe we should start with those who are aware but don’t seem to care.
